Photon Phrightday

Narration: Tom Neumann

Transcript:

Today we’re showing a pass over the Transylvanian Alps in Romania that was collected on Halloween one year ago. What we’re seeing here in the figure are the dramatic mountains and valleys in the area with a pair of cat ears mysteriously appearing on Halloween every year. Of course this is the home of Count Dracula and endless spooky stories about his doings in these mountains and valleys. ICESat-2 has been on orbit for over a year and we’re continuing to measure heights of mountains and valleys and rivers and trees around the globe and every 91 days right here in the Transylvanian Alps. So if Count Dracula decides to build a new castle, you’ll hear it here first on Photon Phriday.
